LinkMaster Module /w AJAX*
LinkMaster is a unique multi-function, content building module, that integrates text, images, and hyperlinks, that has a wide variety of applications within your portal. The embedded Text/HTML editor and optional inline styles enable you to create uniquely formated articles, announcements, link lists, etc. Dynamic image resizing enables uniform images without having to modify the images for each application, as well as increasing performance. Scheduling options allow individual items to be added or removed when you choose, keeping the page(s) fresh and up to date. Formatting features allow for positioning the image, including text wrap around the image.

- Schedule when each item will appear or expire. Items that have expired are still available to the editors. They may be edited, rescheduled, or deleted.
- An option to 'Show Hidden Data' allow the editor to display items which have been scheduled, but are either before their scheduled date or have expired, as well as the view order for each item. Unlike many other modules that have scheduling options, expired items are available for editing, rescheduling, or deletion.

- Set the minimum width of each column and the alignment within the column.
- Set the spacing between items to achieve the visual appearance that your desire.
- Specify the image position including the ability to wrap text either left or right.
- Specify text alignment that applies to all items in the instance of the module.
- Unique style handling features allow for optionally creating an embedded style to control the layout of the module.
- Format link text specifying size, color, font name, bold, or italics. Link format may be applied to all items or applied to individual links.
- A customizable HTML separator may be added between each item or a custom image may be inserted to act as a separator between each item.
The LinkMaster Options page provides many features that control the look and feel of the module. The images may be set to dynamically resize to a user specified value, thus creating a more uniform layout. The descriptive text has three options available to control how the text area is displayed, including a customizable link to display the text at the users discretion. There are options that control the spacing between adjacent items; image position, including text wrap; text alignment; minimum column width; horizontal alignment within each column. A customizable HTML separator may be added between each item or a custom image may be inserted to act as a separator between each item. If a text link is used, the link text may be customized. The link text color, size, font weight, italics, and font name are options available to customize the link text.
The LinkMaster Edit page contains the selections needed to add a new link or to edit an existing link. Here you may select what type of link that you wish it to be; Image only; Text only; Both image and text. You may enter a link to a URL of your choice; Select an existing URL from your portals list of hyperlinks; Select a link to a page within your portal; Link to a file in your portal. With the exception of entering a hyperlink manually, all link options provide a drop-down list of available selections. There are logging and tracking options to allow you to monitor the activity created by this link, as well as the option to open the link in a new window. If you are using an image with this link, you may select an existing image within your portal; Upload and resize a new image for later use; Enter the location of a remote image. Images located within your portal may be resized by setting the image size in the LinkMaster Options page. Remote images may not be resized. Optional text may be added in tow areas. The 'Image Title Text' area is the text that will be displayed when a mouse passes over the image. A large text area is provided for this entry. The length of this text may be limited in some browsers. (This features uses the HTML Title property) A HTML/text editor is provided for entry and formatting of description text. (This is the HTML/text editor included with DotNetNuke. For information regarding this editor, refer to the documentation for the DotNetNuke HTML/text editor) The 'View Order' entry may be used to set the order in which each link appears. Individual links may be scheduled to appear or to expire on specified dates. This feature enables time sensitive items to be scheduled. There is an option to format the link text specifying text color, font size, font name, bold, or italic. This feature is not available if link text formatting has been set in the LinkMaster Options page. To delete an item, click the delete link button. The deletion will not occur until after the action is confirmed. (Deleted items will not be available in the recycle bin.)
The LinkMaster Image Upload page allows uploading, resizing, and renaming images to your portal. When resizing you may select from a list of common image dimensions or specify your own dimensions. The Image Upload Utility will upload, resize and save the image to your portal. The uploaded image is available for use anywhere within your portal.
* AJAX, shorthand for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML, is a technique for creating interactive web applications. Web pages feel more responsive by exchanging small amounts of data with the server behind the scenes, rather than reload the entire web page each time the user makes a change. This increases the web page's interactivity, speed, and usability.

Note: Due to the numerous and frequent modifications to DotNetNuke 3.3.x and 4.3.x there are multiple versions of LinkMaster available for download. There is no functional difference between these versions. The frequent changes to the DotNetNuke file system have neccessitated modification of LinkMaster to enable continued access the DotNetNuke file manager. As we anticipate additional modifications to the DotNetNuke file manager, Ghost River Associates wishes to assures our customers that we will continue to adapt all of our modules so that they will continue to function correctly.
